I started this painting while an artist in residence at Elephant Butte, NM. The original underpainting reflected the deep ancestral pull of the Land in the desert; as the painting evolved, it moved into this version.
The expression of Land and Stars holds a deep bone memory and knowing that the Land of Elephant Butte wanted to be expressed.
